PANCAKES WITH NUTS
Ingredients:
1-Cup Walnuts, or Pecans, or Sunflower Seeds
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
1 ½ Cups Soymilk or Water or Diluted Fruit Juice
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
¼ Cup Pure Vegetable Oil
4 Tbsp. Barley Malt Syrup or Rice Syrup
Oil for Pan
Directions:
Chop nuts, Mix together with flour and baking powder
in a large bowl.
Mix the liquids; Soymilk, Oil, and Syrup.
Combine with dry ingredients until it is a smooth batter.
Thin with water as necessary.
Put 2 Tbsp. Oil in pan. Let the oil get hot before
spooning the batter into the pan.
Flip and brown on both sides.
Serve with Mixed Fruit Sauce , or Pure Maple Syrup,
Variation:
Add 1/3 Cup raisins and 2 tsp. Cinnamon to the
dry ingredients.
Substitute buckwheat flour or rice flour for the
whole-wheat flour.
